Hug you, Kiss you, and call you George

Please watch this Daffy Duck cartoon. I don't know why we thought it was so funny, but this provided Dan and me hours of entertainment last night.

The Fruit-full Project

I'm going to be a guest blogger for The Fruit-full Project!!! I hope you'll join us as we focus for the next 10 weeks on increasing the amount of fruits and veggies in our diets AND focus on the fruits of the spirit through scipture reading, prayer, and reflection.

The Fruit-full Project: The goal of the fruit-full project is to eat more fruits and vegetables and to learn, meditate, pray and live out the fruit of the Spirit. Each week, we'll focus on one of the fruit of the Spirit. Each day, we will post the fruits and vegetables that we ate and a verse about the fruit of the Spirit...and maybe some thoughts too.

A reason, a season, or a lifetime

Have you heard the saying that friends come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime? Well, I'm not sure which category these girls fall into, but I can definitely tell you that these girls have made a huge impact in my life! These girls (plus three more who aren’t pictured) are in my small group. We started out as 12 strangers, and soon thereafter became close friends, confidants, and encouragements. Yesterday one girl moved to Alaska, in a few days another will be moving to Maine, and a few weeks later another will be off to Canada! We’ve gone through a whole lot together (including 4 engagements!) and I’ll always cherish these friendships, even if they were only for a short season.

Decorating help, please!

I am serious need of some decorating help! I'm trying to decide on a color to paint my walls in my living room.

Here are the details:
1) Black furniture (coffee table, side tables, TV case, book case)
2) Baby blue seating (blue couch, blue chair)

Question 1: What color should I paint my walls?
Question 2: Do you think I can paint my cheapy target furniture white?

Any advice welcome!

Funny Little things

This post is dedicated to funny little things I've seen lately.

I knew Hello Kitty and I had something in common! I love nerds too! Found here.

For the very GQ baby, a bib with a tie! Found here.

Target is now selling a new Jesus doll! He's the same height as a Ken doll! Now Barbie can play Mary and Martha, and Ken be one of the apostles! I would have loved this when I was little! Jesus can totally heal the sick at Barbie's Malibu beach house! Found here.

And last but not least, the utterly hilarious post by Big City Pretty about Koalas!

Bail me out of Jail!!

On June 10th, I will be participating in MDA’s fundraising event to raise money for local families with special needs children (Jerry’sKids.) The theme this year is a “Jail Bird” theme, so they will be sending Police Officers up to my office on June 10th to “arrest” me and I need to raise money for my “bail” to get out of jail.

If you feel called to do so, please consider giving a $5 or $10 donation to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. My goal is to raise $1600, and I will match any gift you make, so every dollar you give will be doubled to help these families! (up to $800)

To donate, go here: https://www.joinmda.org/richardson2009/suzanneskinner

The economy is hitting everyone right now, but imagine how much harder it would be if you were raising a child with a disability. After losing a job, many parents do not have the medical insurance or extra funds to provide treatments for their kids.

If everyone reading gave even just $5, I could reach my goal in no time! Please consider donating to this wonderful organization!
