Interesting Articles & a T-Shirt

Hello friends! Here is another scatter brained post! enjoy!

First is a thought provoking article about a single woman who wants to adopt. My initial reaction? No way! Children needs a mommy and a daddy! After reading it.....I'm not as sure. Is a single mother home better than no home at all? especially if they are starving and living in poverty? I'd love to know your thoughts.

Next is an inspiring Photo Essay about a sweet wife and mother who has created a beautiful home for her husband and daughter. The catch? All three of them live in 382 square feet apartment. It goes to show that you can have joy and contentment in any situation! such an inspiration! Her home is wonderful!

Next is a great article from an awesome new website I found! Please check out Conversant Life and particularly this article about Questioning Evangelism.

Then, a list of Financial Lessons you can learn from Little House on the Prairie! A funny read with some great tips!

And last is this funny shirt that made me smile. Jesus is my bestie too!

This post is in honor of my sister Alison who I think will love every link I put on this list.

Book Reviews, Product Reviews, and other Friday Fun!

Today's post is a little scatter brained, but here goes:

1. Some weird pictures in honor of my sister Alison's bulldog Biscuit

2. Do you have a man-person in your life? Boyfriend, fiance, husband? If so, I recommend reading the book For Women Only. It's amazing! Truly, it helps you understand men (and you might consider sweetly recommending your sweetie reads For Men Only. It will greatly increase his understanding of your fabulously female brain) While I'm recommending books, might I also add that Love & Respect is the best marriage book out there for practical application. And Sacred Marriage will change the way you think about everything involving marriage. All great books!
While I'm giving recommendations, let me give some shout outs for a couple favorites this week:

3. When Texas decides to rain for a week straight, this hairspray saves the day. (and smells good too!)

4. For perfect lashes everytime (or as my sisters like to call mine "spider lashes")

5. Only 26 bucks for super cute shoes? Yes please!

6. Check out this guide to keeping your home Clean Enough

7. And saving the best for last--- for a HILARIOUS friday read, please check out the post dedicated to me by the geniusly creative writer Denise

Okay, that's all folks! Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Finding Rest

This has been a crazy chaotic week of meetings, appointments, schedules, to-do lists and not enough time for any of it. Dan and I are frazzled, stressed and just plain tired.

Find rest, O my soul, in God alone;
my hope comes from him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken
Psalm 62:5-6
I look forward to a weekend with no schedule, no obligations, and just pure rest. Hoping that comes sooner rather than later!

Breaking News: Martha <3s Home Depot!

The Domestic Goddess herself is making decorating and stylish home improvement affordable and easy to find!! Today, Martha Stewart Living announced their strategic partnership with Home Depot!! They will have Home Decor, patio and outdoor living, home improvement products, and more!
This is great news for me as I already love the very affordable and stylish offerings of the Martha Stewart line at K-Mart (have no fear if you can't find a KMart in town....I order mine online!)

Mentors, Registries, and Elephants

This week we started our pre-marital class at Watermark and were really excited to get a great mentor couple to lead our table. They seem really interested in getting to know us and helping us as we navigate through the many transitions coming our way. If you have never been in a mentor type relationships, click here and here for some great articles about mentors.

In other news, we are finishing up our wedding registries at BB&B, Macy's, William Sonoma, and Neimans. Although there are lots of fun things out there, I am BY FAR, most excited about these two beauties that will take a shining place of glory in our kitchen

Although we already booked honeymoon, I do kind of wish it could involve some of this:

Oh well! We will just have to take a safari adventure on another trip! Hope all of you are ready for a fun filled weekend! We will be packing up Dan's room as he moves into our apartment in a few weeks!

Dear January 16th,

Dear January 16th,
You seem so far away. Please get here quicker. Thanks!
Love,Suz & Dan

For those of you who don't realize, January 16th is the day I will be marrying the man of my dreams and getting a super cool last name (that is very fun to pronounce with a French accent....try it! it's fun!)

Lately I've noticed that anytime I'm feeling like the wedding is light years away, all I have to do is drive on over to my neighborhood Hobby Lobby and suddenly it gets tons better!

You see, at Hobby Lobby, Christmas begins around August. So anytime I go there and see all of the Christmas decor, I start thinking that the wedding is just around the corner!! I just love Hobby Lobby (or as Denise refers to it "The Hob Lob")

In the spirit of wedding mania, here are some interesting links about weddings and marriage:

NY Times thoughts on Marriage

Mega Church, Mega Wedding

Hatch 'n Match Ceremonies

Case for Early Marriage (what I lovingly refer to as "getting married is so hot right now")
And finally the link to our pre-marriage class we start one week from today!
