Singing in the Rain

Oh, I really do not like the rain! I wish the sunshine would come back! These are the only two activities that will make the rain worth it:

Surrendering to a Sovereign Lord

"For God is working in you, giving you the desire to obey Him and the power to do what pleases Him." (Philippians 2:13)

Because God is sovereign... I will joyfully submit to His will.

My church can beat up your church

I really appreciated this quote below about Mega Churches. Whether it’s a church of 20 or 20 million, I hope all believers can find a church home where they can grow in their relationship with Christ and fulfil God’s will in their life. I pray that the Body of Christ can break down the walls of denominations, personal agendas and internal discord that causes believers to not cooperate in our effort to glorify God.

QUOTE: "[Michael Spencer] lumps all megachurches together and describes them as being more interested in relevance than doctrine. He says of megachurches that they are ‘compromised and weakened in their ability to pass on the faith.' The author concludes that he expects the ‘landscape of megachurch vacuity to be around for a very long time.' How awful. What could be worse than a bunch of churches across America that are so effective at lifting up the name of Jesus that huge crowds gather? What could be worse than having so many people meeting Jesus and having their lives transformed by Jesus, that they just can't stop telling their friends? I'm determined to celebrate what God is doing wherever it is happening. Whether it is in a gathering of three people or 3,000 or 3 million. I don't have enough brains or time to figure out the motives of the hearts of the leaders in another church. I'll just celebrate what they are doing and let God sort it out later." -Tim Stevens, executive pastor of Granger Community Church (a megachurch) in Granger, Ind. taking issue with blogger Michael Spencer's widely circulated predictions of "The Coming Evangelical Collapse"-which included an unflattering take on "pragmatic, therapeutic, church-growth oriented megachurches" as part of a movement that made "buildings, numbers, and paid staff its drugs for half a century."

Lovely pink flowers were a Lovely surprise on a Lovely evening from my Love.
"Why?" I asked. "Just because" he replied.
I might not be Irish this St. Patrick's Day, but it's no doubt that I truly am a Lucky Lucky girl!
I couldn't be happier. I am so blessed.

Fruits, Veggies, and the Texas Public School System

As a resident of one of the fattest states (sorry mississippi, you won the title for #1 fattest state in America) I consider childhood obesity a really sad problem we have in Texas. Nutrition is hugely important to me and I'm excited to hear that many school in Texas are taking proactive steps to improve health and nutrition education and are working to provide healthier options for kids in cafeterias.

With the economy struggling, many lower income families will turn to high fat, high calorie, high sugar foods with little or no nutritional value. This past week the university of texas was awarded a grant to expand a program that teaches students in the texas public schools about nutrition, physical fitness, and overall healthy living! YAY for veggies-loving active kids!!

Read more about the story here and go eat those veggies!

So this is Love

For those who don't know my favorite movie growing up was Cinderella. I had the entire movie memorized and I could recite it to you if you asked. Although I've forgotten most of it, I still know all the words to the songs.

I found this video of the ballroom scene and thought I'd share. Prince Charming is so dreamy!

So This is Love
from the Disney movie Cinderella

So this is love, Mmmmmm
So this is love
So this is what makes life divine
I'm all aglow, Mmmmmm
And now I know
The key to all heaven is mine
My heart has wings, Mmmmmm
And I can fly
I'll touch ev'ry star in the sky
So this is the miracle that I've been dreaming of
Mmmmmm
Mmmmmm
So this is love

Just call me Aunt Su Su

I love being an aunt! It's so much fun! My nephews are the cutest funniest thing ever! Since I live in Dallas again, I've had the opportunity to get to spend a lot of time with my fam-- including my two nephews, Zach and JB! Before I had nephews, I didn't really understand how babies could have personalities, but now I totally get it. It's been so fun to see Zach's personality develope and watch him grow and learn new things! And eventhough JB is only 3 months old, his personality is already coming out too! It's shocking how different he and Zach are!

Here are some super cute pics of my nephews! Click here for more Baker Brothers!

My nephew JB at 3 months- so smiley!
My nephew Zach is such a Texan! I love it!
He looks like a tiny business man in this button down, slacks, and belt! So cute for church!
Zach loves to "read" to his little brother. So cute!

If I wasn't stuck in a cubicle at work....

So, I've been a very bad blogger lately and haven't been updating. Work has been crazy busy, but this is what I would rather be doing right now:

Relaxing like these two
Enjoying the day like this guy

Dancing like these little ones

And singing old hymns in a cute church like this

Jesus working the trade show circuit

Have I mentioned that I love my job? Wait...have I mentioned that I even have a job? I don't like to talk about work much. It's a really boring topic, I think. But occasionally, it will sneak its way into social conversations. So...what do I do? I sell software to ministries.

Sure, when I was a little girl I did not day dream of selling software. It's not my dream job (this is by the way) but my job is still pretty cool. I work with really nice people, get to interact with lots of really neat ministries, and at the end of the day, I like my job.

This picture was taken from a recent Tradeshow that I attended where I was selling Software to ministries that were attending the Christian conference.

I could have sworn that Jesus lived in Heaven, but apparently he makes appearances at Trade Shows every once in a while for a marketing stunt.
